Our company

From design to manufacture, we have chosen to integrate 100% of each production stage in our workshop, by transforming fabric, foam and wood ourselves. Our team
In 1896, in La Mothe Achard in Vendée on the West coast of France, Edmond Ruchaud, a saddler, made and repaired leather equipment for horses. Four generations of the family have followed him, with each generation ensuring that Ruchaud reflects the spirit of its times. After the First World War, the workshop focused its attention on car upholstery, equipping the first motor cars. In the 1950s, Jacques Ruchaud, a motorboat champion, opened up a new horizon: yachting, becoming a pioneer in nautical upholstery for the most famous shipyards. Today, our workshop blends tradition and technical know-how and continues to innovate to meet the needs of the most demanding sectors. Firmly rooted in our region, our team is proud to perpetuate this precious heritage carried by the love of a job well done.

The design office
Our in-house design office, equipped with 3D technology, pushes back the boundaries of bespoke design to combine tradition and innovation. We develop and build your project with you, advising you every step of the way. This collaborative approach means we can offer you customised solutions and guarantee your complete satisfaction, from prototype to production.
The textile workshop
The art of sewing is our heritage. Behind each cushion cover lies exceptional craftsmanship. Our state-of-the-art cutting and assembly technologies, combined with the dexterity and talent of our seamstresses, ensure impeccable results and finishes, right down to the smallest detail.
The foam workshop
In order to ensure optimum comfort and infinite customisation, we have chosen to integrate into our own workshop the selection, cutting and customisation of the foam we use. We select the best foams from a wide range and define the different combination materials to meet your needs and comfort requirements.
